We are back!

We are back to school!

Peraltas was a wonderful experience full of excitement and learning! (pictures to be posted soon)

Back to our regular school life, this week we are starting a new Unit of Inquiry!

The central idea is:
Ongoing exploration can lead to discovery, growth, and further understanding.

under the transdisciplinary theme
Where in are in place and time.
         

The Inquiry will take place through the Lines of Inquiry:

-Reasons why people explore.

-People renowned for exploration and the challenges they faced.

-Development in technology and tools.

Students will have different activities this week to get engaged in the Unit. Let's go!


Also last week, before Peraltas, students had the opportunity to share their knowledge and present their findings and ideas to PYP 4 students. It ws a nice experience to not only find out and discuss about their rights, but also organise all the information and present it clearly to an audience. Well done! (See pictures below)

Peraltas!

It's finally here! We are going to Peraltas!

Remember:

• We leave from Pinheiros Campus on Wednesday 21st at 6:30am. PYP 5's are in Bus 1 and 2 so everyone please arrive to school on time!
• E-mails were sent to parents with information about Peraltas with a schedule and a list of what to take when making your bag.
• Please ensure every bag has a Peraltas tag on them.

Last week students were working on a presentation to inform PYP 4 students of their rights and responsibilities in different areas of school. This was an opportunity for each student to demonstrate their understanding of Unit 1. (See pictures below)

Heading towards the end of the Unit

Last Wednesday 7th was a holiday and also the opening ceremony of the Paralympics in Rio! We hope you had a fun and enjoyable day.

Students in school have been learning about some leaders who believed their personal attitudes and actions could make a difference and impact their surroundings. Next they will analyse and discuss what kind of actions they can take to ensure their surroundings is fair to everyone. (See pictures below)

During Art lessons, students inquired into shape and colour to produce an art piece related to a feeling and their rights to feel in different ways. 'I have the right to feel...' was the starting point of this art project. (see pictures below)

Students also met the new Head of Library, Mr. Boyd, who kindly shared a story with them. (see pictures below)
